After I got the big chop in November my hair has been the healthiest it has ever been. However I still struggle with the frizz and silkiness. I have not really been one to invest in hair care and I have no reason as to why but I'm not a hair care gal. Bumble and Bumble has always been a brand that I have been interested in trying after the constant ramblings from the beauty enablers Anna from VDM and Lily from LilyPebbles. However in Australia, Bumble and Bumble is sold in Mecca Cosmetica which is so many dollar signs it makes me cringe {especially for hair care}.
Bumble and Bumble brought out some killer sets for the holiday season and after constant struggle on deciding which one to get, I finally chose the Non Stop Softness kit.
This set contains 3 mini Bumble and Bumble hair care products with one of them being the Hairdresser's Invisible Oil which I have been keen to try for so long. Now here is the best bit. This product can be bought on it's own at $49AUD for 100ml. You can buy this Non-Stop Softness set which includes a 100ml Hairdresser's visible oil + 60ml shampoo and conditioner for THE SAME PRICE!!
LET THAT SINK IN!
3 products for the price of one?! Who wouldn't want to score that deal!?
Here are my first impressions!
I don't really think that the line has a significant scent to it but I can smell some sort of coconut in it. The scent lingers but it isn't overwhelming or annoying. I really like it though!!
The SHAMPOO: It comes in a 60ml bottle and smells fresh with a hint of coconut goodness. The shampoo lathers up nicely and effectively cleans your hair. What I like about it the most is that it doesn't make the strands of hair feel thin or straw like.
The CONDITIONER: It is a 60ml squeeze tube and again smells really lovely. The conditioner is a thicker consistency {think heavy thick cream} but once applied and rinsed, it makes your hair feel so light, soft and less frizzy. Oh yes. This is what conditioner dreams are made of.
The OIL SERUM THING: This is the absolute steal in the set, as it comes in a 100ml bottle {full size}. A little bit goes a loooong way to make your hair look silky without looking gross and greasy. I always use this regardless if I am using heat on it or not because it works baby!
I used all three hair care products for two weeks consistently (every 2-3 days). I can say that have seen a difference in the way that my hair looks and feels. I have noticed less frizziness when my hair air dries, more shine, silkiness and it generally feels soft and healthy. I'm impressed with this little kit, and it has definitely opened my eyes to try out the rest of the brand {even though it's $$$}. I actually prefer kits like these as you can sample the big guns without paying for a full size product that you may not like.
BUT YOU GOTTA ACT QUICK! IT'S LIMITED EDITION! {dun dun dunnnnn}
Would you recommend any products from Bumble and Bumble to try out?! :)

T'was The Christmas Lipstick
A red lip is always a must when it comes to the holiday season in my opinion. Something about a red lip is classy while also shouting "CHRISTMAS" from the rooftops. I thought it was time to treat myself to a high end red lipstick for the holidays, that wasn't MAC's Ruby Woo.
The release of the NARS Audacious Lipstick collection caught my eyes however every time I went into Mecca Cosmetica, they didn't have any shades that appealed to me that were a real stand out. That was of course, until I saw this one lonely {but badass} red lipstick in an array of pinks and nudes.

NARS "Rita" is a beautiful scarlet red with warm undertones. I think it is the perfect red! Bold statement, why yes, but bold lips? Even more yes. The lipstick has a creamy formula and is incredibly opaque in one swipe. I can't comment on feathering as every time I go for a red lip, I just have to use a lip liner {The Rimmel one if you were wondering} due to fear of clown mouth. But it has a beautiful stain to it and slightly fades in the centre of the lips after a a big meal. It wears really nicely and it feels incredibly comfortable on the lips. I wore this lipstick on Christmas and I got SO many compliments on it!! I loved pairing this red lipstick with plain one wash eyeshadow and a simple cat flick! puuuurfect-o
Also, big shout out to the packaging of this lipstick collection. It's soooo different to the normal NARS matte packaging which is a lovely change. The lid is also magnetic which makes the lipstick feel even more luxurious.
What lipstick did you wear on Christmas Day?

Bits and Bobs from the Drugstore
I do love a good ol' drugstore haul! I have been trying to save my money since the massive splurge-a-thon that happened at MAC a couple of posts ago. Every so often, I keep an eye out for sales when it comes to drugstore makeup because why pay full price?!
Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat
I'll run through what I would consider a boring purchase. But an essential one. I already own one of these and to be honest, it's not the greatest base coat in the world but it does the job at a pretty affordable price {+ with SALES!! How could I not?!}. I am open to new base coat suggestions!
L'oreal Color Riche Moisture Matte Lipstick
Let me explain that I have a love/hate relationship with L'oreal's lipstick packaging. They never have the range that the lipstick is from, only the shade but they always hit the nail on the head with their aesthetics! DANG this lipsticks looks and feels so fancy! The shade that I chose was "Cherry Crush" which is a lovely bright pink shade. The lipstick applies so smooth and I surprisingly didn't get miranda sing'd on the first go, which usually happens let's be honest. It is a little drying and can cling to some dry patches but it's all about how you apply it baby. I always prep my lips before tackling the big guns {matte lipsticks}.
Australis High Lights Mineral Face Highlighter in "Pearl"
I'm not a gal that is all about dat strong contour and highlight business. BUUUUT, I have always wanted to try the Benefit High Beam because it is SO beautiful! I have been lusting over that pearly pink highlighter for a long time but I didn't want to fork out da big $$. Anyways, I was searching Priceline for something similar and BAM, this one caught my eye! It comes in a bottle with a pump which is like 10x better than a little brush {all about that hygiene tho}. This highlighter incredibly creamy, easy to apply and looks so natural for a subtle everyday highlight. I like to pair it with a matte blush and yes. y e s. very good.
I tried to hold off of these for the longest time but again, sales got the best of me. I wasn't really feelin' the shade selection to be honest. I mean they had some nice shades don't get me wrong but I felt like something was missing! {more pinks please!} I picked up the shade"LA Exclusive" which again is another pink shade, can you feel a theme running through this post?! When swatched on my hand this lip products looks pigmented in colour but is still sheer. On my lips this shade is SOOOOO sheer. Like I applied two layers and was like "WHERE R U?!". I have found a winning combo though, so if you would like to see a post about that, I would be more more than happy to blog about it!
L'oreal Brow Artist Plumper in "Dark Brunette"
With drugstore brow products on the rise like zombies, I decided to give the L'oreal Brow Artist Plumper a go which is basically a volumising tinted brow gel. I was soooo relieved that the tinted gel actually matches the colour of my eyebrows which rarely happens with drugstore brow products. The wand bit of the product is way bigger than my eyebrows, which is kind of scary at first but it works well to give the effect of fuller brows. It looks all goopy on the wand which is a little of a worry, but fear not, it dries matte on the brows and lasts all day {In my experience anyways}.
I LOVE HAULS! Have you tried any of the things that I purchased? I would love to know your thoughts on them too! :D

A Fruity Christmas
I thought about starting this post with a good ol' christmas carol but I ain't got time to write that all out! HAHAH Christmas is creeping upon us again and to get into the spirit, I took a trip to The Body Shop because YES.
As soon as I heard about the release of the Glazed Apple Collection, I was excited! GREEN APPLES ARE MY FAVE FRUIT! So it's basically a match made in heaven. The smell of The Body Shop products aren't true green apples but it's so close you could eat it {BUT DON'T}.
I already own many of The Body Shop Body Butters so I knew this one was going to be a winner already. The Glazed Apple Body Butter comes in the standard tub the Body Butters come in with a lovely picture of a candied apple *drools*. The smell hits you as soon as you open the lid and the formula has a creamy, almost whipped buttery consistency. When you apply the Body Butter, it goes on as an even layer and absorbs into the skin in minutes. What I love about the Body Butters the most is that they provide 24 hour moisture which is great if you have almost scaly mermaid legs like me at the moment.
Another Glazed Apple product that I purchased was the Glazed Apple Hand Cream. I'm a big fan of The Body Shop Hand Creams in general and as the scent was apples, damage was done. The hand cream comes in a 30ml tube which is fantastic for travelling. As soon as you apply the cream, it absorbs pretty quickly leaving your hands smelling like ripe green apples! What I like about it the most is that it doesn't leave your hands feeling all oily and gross.
The other scent? FLAVOUR? WHo KNOws!? was the Frosted Cranberry collection. Holy moly, girl! Definitely give it a whirl next time you are at The Body Shop because you will NOT be disappointed. The smell reminds me so much of lollies, specifically the red kind of lollies for some weird reason. I picked up the Frosted Cranberry Lip Balm was an impulse buy. It's not the greatest lip balm in the world if you have hecka chapped lips, by the end of the day my lips felt a bit worse for wear. BUT it has a pink/red little tint to it. I personally would skip this as a stocking stuffer and invest in one of the larger products.
The last product that I bought was the Frosted Cranberry Body Polish. I have tried the scrubs from The Body Shop before but haven't tried the "body polishes". I honestly don't know what the difference is between them but the body polish has a gel almost jelly like consistency with larger and harsher granules. I love a good body scrub and when I smelt this one in store, I couldn't not pick it up. The smell is just on point christmas sweets! And it works a gosh darn treat to get rid of the previously mentioned scaly mermaid legs.
I'm pretty pleased with all these products that I bought. Looking back, I should have bought at least one thing from the other christmas collection {vanilla something?} but oh well. All these products are great stocking stuffers for your beauty loving friend! I would recommend checking out the christmas packs to get more bang for your buck! :D

Mid December Favourites 2014
I took another break again which I am so sorry about.. I just needed time to myself, to get my life back on track and during the process, my blog just fell off my priority list. BUT IM BACK{streets back alright- duh danannanana *funky dance move*} and I am so pumped to get writing again and take photos and chat with you guys {that's my fave part!}.
On another note, it is the middle of December..
um wat?!
I know I am extremely late with the November Faves so I thought I would call it my mid December favourites and include some of the products that I have been loving in November as well! As Christmas is right around the riverbend {pls get the reference *praying emoji*}, I haven't purchased any super new products. However there may be a couple that are new but haven't been used until now!
Maybelline Color Tattoo in "Bad to the Bronze"
"Bad to the bronze" which is a metallic brown type kind of colour. I have a couple of these at home in different shades however this one is just a stand out in my opinion. I wasn't a fan of the cream to powder formulation to start with {girl lemme finish} but this particular pot of eyeshadow just goes on and blends smoother than the others. It looks great as a one wash shadow with some mascara, BOOM. done.
Essie "Mod Square"
Essie's "Mod Square" has been a step out of the comfort zone type of nail polish shade for me. I normally don't ever paint my nails pink as I don't think they suit me, but I had Mod Square sitting on my shelf just waiting to be loved so I gave it a go. It's a bright but not too bright summery shade which I think would go lovely with any skin tone. As it is an Essie nail polish, their formulas are just on point.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer
I have been trialling this concealer for a couple of months and I can finally say that I really like it. I normally struggle with high coverage concealers as they don't do their job and cover up my hyper pigmentation. I decided to splurge on this concealer {without reading reviews..} and I am so glad I took the plunge. It blends really nicely into my foundation to cover up all my dark scars and the coverage is just right with no cakeyness what so ever.
NARS Satin Lipstick in "Niagara"
What a great coral pink! I've had this lipstick for a couple of weeks but cracked it open not long ago and holy moly I love it. First of all the colour is so beautiful and looks so flattering with my skin tone. And because of the satin formula, it applies so smooth and doesn't show the cracks in your lips. Lasting power isn't this lipstick's strongest point but I don't mind because of the colour!!
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in "Antwerp"
Oh snap, if there has been one lip colour that I have been loving this month, it's the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in "Antwerp". It is a peachy corally type shade which has a matte formulation. I have talked about a different shade that I own {Milan, if any of you were wondering}, and I am a big fan of the formula when I use my Korres Lip Butter underneath. Something about that combo just eliminates the dryness while providing long lasting colour. oh yes.
The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Cream Body Scrub
Again, another product that I have had for weeks and haven't touched until recently! The Vineyard Peach collection is my all time FAVE scent from The Body Shop and I'm so devo that they re-released the collection for a limited amount of time. I managed to get my hands on the cream body scrub and I'm so glad that I did. It smells soooo good, the cream has a whipped butter texture to it which is so lovely and the granules are so fine that it doesn't irritate my skin. I'm a fan!
That was a few favourites to get through but I hoped you enjoyed reading my thoughts! I have planned loads of posts so I hopefully won't be taking a long break again any time soon! What are your current faves?!

Getting Carried Away at MAC
On the weekend, I treated myself with a unnecessary shopping spree to congratulate myself on finishing Uni. Now.. I'm not going to lie but I got a bit carried away at the MAC counter because I literally get overwhelmed with the choices they give me and I CAVED!
The last lipstick that I purchased was Brave which is described by MAC as "A muted pink-beige with a very subtle white pearl overtone" with a satin formula. On first swipe, Brave is more pigmented then the other lipsticks that I bought because of the formula. The shade is soooo different to anything I own already as it is a mauve pink with hints of brown making it what some would say the perfect 90s lip shade {the trend you either love to love or love to not love}.
I also picked up a blush from the permanent line in Mocha which is a "soft plum-pink" according to MAC. I would have to agree that it has plum undertones in the pan, but when swatched "Mocha" is more of a natural pink. It has a matte finish which is kinda scary to me as nearly all my blushes have some sort of shimmer to them. But this blush is ohsoooo lovely! The neutral pink colour is just perfect for my skin tone, it warms up my face and because it is matte, it looks so much natural during the day {if you don't go overboard with it bc girl this blush is crazy pigmented}.
I picked up three lipsticks. T H R E E. {madness}.
The first one that caught my eye from the bullet was Lovelorn which is a lustre finish. I am a big fan of MAC's lustre finishes because I think they look so natural for every day use. They are sheer and have just enough sheen to it to look like you have put effort into your face. Lovelorn is described by MAC as an "Emotive Blue Pink" which I have to agree, it's a medium blue toned pink. It really is the perfect pink for me and I never thought I would love a pink lipstick so much in my life.
The next one that purchased was Hot Gossip which is described by MAC as a "Mid Toned Pinky Plum" with a cremesheen formula. First off, the colour is beyond incredible! It's a really natural pink shade that has obvious plum undertones. It can be applied sheer, has a sheeny finish and is buildable. It is a more bold {darker} "my lips but better shade". This is the first lipstick I own with a cremesheen formula so I'm not extremely confident with explanations. But from my experience, it glides on smoothly and fades nicely because the colour is so light.
The last lipstick that I purchased was Brave which is described by MAC as "A muted pink-beige with a very subtle white pearl overtone" with a satin formula. On first swipe, Brave is more pigmented then the other lipsticks that I bought because of the formula. Left to right: (Lipsticks) Lovelorn, Hot Gossip, Brave & Mocha (Blush)
Overall, I would have to say that I am pleased with all these purchases. My favourite purchase is definitely "Lovelorn" because it is the perfect pink lipstick for my skin tone! I can't wait to experiment more with these lipsticks as they are all so pretty. PINKS ARE MY WEAKNESS.
What's on your MAC lipstick wish list?!

October Favourites 2014
I finally got around to collecting the products that have been well loved in October. October was a great month aside from exams and all that. I went to see my main squeeze, Justin Timberlake in concert TWICE bc he is just unbelievably fantastic {+ I have been waiting for 19 years bc last time he came here, my mum thought I was too young to go to his concert..}. ANYWAYS, here are the products that I have rediscovered and have looooved in October.
Lucus' Paw Paw Ointment
This product is like a cult product in Australia, I literally see it by the bucket loads in Priceline. And for good reasons too because this stuff is pretty darn good! It's a multi purpose balm like lanolips or the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream but I actually prefer this one! It has a sutble scent and it feels nice on the lips. I use it before I go to sleep or when I have wind burn on my lips {YOU KNOW? when you get burns that give lip liper effect due to the weather?!?!}, and in the morning my lips feel soothed and ready to face the day.
NARS Sheer Glow
I have literally used this foundation everyday this month. It's so easy to apply and blends seemlessly into the skin. The coverage is pretty good for a product that has the word SHEER in it's title! Although it does have some downsides such as clinging to some dry patches and the longevity, HOWEVER, it is a beautiful foundation for those who love the "I'm not wearing makeup… jk I am but you know NOTHING" look.
MAC "Lady Danger"
I rekindled my love for Lady Danger when I went to the JT concert this month. omg I have never been in love with a orange red lipstick in my whole life. I think the undertones in the lipstick somehow brighten my face {does that sound odd?}. It just looks amazing. End of story.
Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
I go through these phases where I just prefer to wear matte eyeshadows over the shimmers. I always go back to the Naked Basics Palette because the shadows are just so buttery soft and really nicely pigmented. They blend on the eyelid so easily and last all day. I have really been into the "Walk of Shame" shade on it's own with a coat of lengthening mascara!
What are some of your October Faves?

New Base? Oh, My!
I never switch up my foundation routine in the almost 2 years that I have discovered my trusty clinique saviours. My skin has gotten WAY better since then so I decided to treat myself to a whole new foundation routine! The buzz about the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation started which sparked my interest! A foundation that has a natural, glowy finish while having some sort of coverage even though the name is totally misleading?
I'm intrigued.
I'm kind of fussy when it comes to foundations. I like it to be medium coverage but also being buildable. Nars Sheer Glow is definitely medium buildable maybe even more on the sheerer side maybe? Depends how you apply it I guess! But anyone who tells you that this foundation is full coverage is kidding themselves {or has amazing skin so it feels heavier on them}. The lady who I spoke to in store recommened that this foundation works best with your fingers. Now I have tried with every beauty tool I possibly own and applying it with your fingers is really the best way to get it on your face without streaks and thining the foundation out.
Those who have previously read my blog, you may know that I suffer from general redness and hyperpigmentation scars that are slowly fading due to a new skincare routine. My skin has gotten way better and I decided to whip the Sheer Glow out for a test run and it does a great job at providing an even base without any redness. However, my scars still peek through so I decided to also buy the Nars Radient Creamy Concealer which works like a dream with the Sheer Glow. This concealer also does a pretty good job at covering the panda eyes without creasing which is just heaven in a tube!{side note. another concealer that works just as well is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer!! amazing stuff!!}.
I have been using this founation every day for the last 4 weeks and I am in love! I have normal to borderline dry skin {at the mo} and it doesn't stick to any dry patches that I am aware of and it lasts a while without fading. To do a minimal face for the day, I go in with some powder, one wash eyeshadow, some mascara and lipbalm and boom. done.
I would love to know your favourite foundation for your lazy face!! And if you have NARS Sheer Glow, how do you apply it to get a "I woke up like dis" face?

Classic Combinations
I love dem classic combinations. Give me glam any day and I will gladly accept!
OUH girl, I mentioned in my September Favourites post that I have been loving TheBalm's Frat Boy Blush! This blush is amazing by the way, it is crazy pigmented and the colour is just so good! I LOVE this paired with my favourite night-out lipsticks {yes, lipstICKS, you heard me}. They are the NARS Matte Lip Crayon in "Red Square" and MAC's "Lady Danger", both of which are bright fiery orange reds which I can't get enough of! I find the NARS Crayon too drying for my liking so I put the MAC one of top so it packs an extra punch of colour and somehow it the dryness doesn't feel too bad. I'm gonna say that I literally have to prep my lips like 4 days in advance to wear matte lip products but it is SO WORTH IT! The combo together lasts a pretty long time, however, I haven't worn it longer than 5 hours but it would probably last longer than that!
All together, I think these products do a pretty good job at creating the vintage glamour look with a pop of colour! I have been loving this combination lately and I can't wait to get more use out of everything!
What is your fave combination?

Every time I go out {which is not often, let's be even more real #pjs&disneymovies4lyf}, I tend to use the same combination because I know it works well! Is that sad.. that I don't really experiment when I go out?! I also have this weird thing where I honestly cannot match my lipstick to my eyeshadows, I don't know if I'm the only one that struggles with this…?
But all I know is that I got this combination down to a T! I love my golds and browns. I love my peachy pinks. I love my orange reds lipsticks. Mix them together and BOOM. Winning combo.
I have tried many gold eyeshadows and some are just too golden, ya know?! I feel like I should just glue two shiny gold coins onto my eyelids instead... But I finally found my favourite golden shade which is MAC's "Woodwinked". I don't know what it is but the shade doesn't look like too bright {or yellow}, it's a more of an everyday vintage glamour shade. I love the way it looks with the ByTerry Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadow crayon in "Bronzed moon" in the outer corner of the lid. The last time I talked about this, I was n00b101 and was like "I DON'T GET CRAYON SHADOWS?!". But let me tell you, I got this under control now. I absolutely love this eyeshadow crayon and I don't use it often because it is so expensive BUT I LOVE IT!
Also paired with wings?! da best combo!

Lush Space Girl Bath Bomb
I have had this bath bomb from Lush sitting in my cupboard for a while and I finally found the time to sit back and relax. Now that my exams are officially over for the year, I was like "you worked hard girl, #treatyoself".
When I plopped it in the bath I was a little mortified to be honest because my whole bath started turning red {dafig?} but then as it fizzed out after two minutes or so, a purple berry colour mixed in with the red and it had this real cool ombre effect in the water! The smell definitely lingers! I can still smell it on my skin and in my bathroom and I'm totally cool with it because it smells so good! I'm going to say that I felt like a slippery seal when I tried getting out of the bath HAHHAH, people have said that they haven't found their bath bomb very moisturising, but I did.
Overall, I enjoyed having a bath with the Lush Space Girl bath ballistic! I don't think I will repurchase because bath bombs are kind of a one time thing {if you want more uses + bubbles, invest in the bubble bars}.
What is your favourite product from Lush?

The Skincare Splurge
I don't think I've ever dedicated a whole post to skincare before because I have issues with my skin and just recently getting of roaccutane, I thought I would treat my year and a half journey with some luxe-o skincare to help treat the aftermath left behind. Now I'm making it sound worse than it really is, but I get disheartened about my skin and get frustrated with foundations not having enough coverage or not sitting on my dry skin. ALAS, I splurged on some skincare bits and bobs from Mecca Cosmetica and David Jones to get my skin back in check... hopefully! Instead of a normal haul telling you "how excited I am to try this", I thought it would be cool to give some first impressions/how it went down with my skin in a couple weeks!
REN Radiance Perfection Serum
Origins Drink Up-Intensive Overnight Mask
REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Gel
I used the normal cleansing gel {with the blue stripe} when I was on accutane so I knew that the gel designed for sensitive skin was going to go down well too. They actually changed the packaging slightly as last time the product looked like a sack of gel in the middle of the bottle but this time they included the thing that pushes the product up every time you pump it out {JA FEEL?}. I use this after I take my makeup off and it is supposed to leave my skin feeling "soothed from irritation and tightness". First impressions~ the smell is not my cup of tea but bearable. It is a gel consistency which doesn't irritate my skin and when I finish using it, my skin is definitely looking less red. So far so good!
REN Radiance Perfection Serum
Now this baby is the one I am most excited about. I have a dull and uneven skin tone with redness from scars and irritation, I am HOPING that this works with that. This product claims to make "skin look energised, radiant and even toned" while also claiming to "help reduce the appearance of sun damaged skin and hyper pigmentation". At first I was really scared to use this serum as I was worried that it would like burn my skin off or something but I assure you that it didn't! ;) The smell has like an orangey scent to it in my opinion. It squirts out of the pump like a mix between a serum and a moisturiser and I always use half a pump as for me, one whole pump is too much!! And it just applies so smoothly and evenly on the skin. After a week of using this product, I definitely noticed an improvement with the redness and overall tone of my skin. My mum even notices that my redness has gone down in the morning which is a total win in my opinion!
Origins Drink Up-Intensive Overnight Mask
I'm kind of cheating with this one because I got it before the other products to see if it would help moisturise my skin. I bought this because Lily Pebbles talked about it and how much she loves it and personally I am still on the fence about it. It smells amazing, like a sweet green tea or something - so I'll give it that, which it does linger so it may not be everyone's cup of tea. I feel like I can't use too much of this at one time because it gets all slimey just as you go to lie on your pillow. Sometimes I have to put my overnight cream on top which I don't know if that's what you are allowed to do but SCREW YOU SKINCARE PO PO!! I'm going to use it based on how it moisturises my skin.
Kate Somerville CytoCell Dark Circle Corrective Eye Cream
At first I thought it was lack of sleep that was making my circles bad but turns out good ol' genetics blessed me with some fine genes. I have dark eyelids too which makes putting on concealer and eyeshadows such a drag because the shades don't show their true colours! :( So I did my research and came across the Kate Somerville eye cream which seemed to work for a lot of people. This bottle was so expensive it made me tear up at the counter but if it does what it's supposed to then it'll be worth it. I would like to mention that it is spring right now where I live and allergies. I have not used this properly since I have got it as my eyes are always itchy and sore! Maybe it'll get shown on the blog in the future?? {don't quote me on that}.
Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask
I saw that a lot of people were blogging about this at one stage and Antipodes just seems like such a cool brand so naturally I wafted over to the shelves and picked it up. I haven't used it yet as I wanted to see how the other products play out on my skin first before I throw in some more new things however, this mask has generally had great reviews so I'm sure that it will work a treat mixed in with the other products that I purchased.
ANNNND that's it! If you kept reading this massive post and got to this point, I applaude you! I know I went cray but I rarely buy new skincare products and it was just time to treat myself! Have you got any skincare products that you have been loving at the mo? I would love to check some more things out! :D

Nails In No Time
I don't know about you but ain't nobody got time for slow drying nails!! I am always painting my nails but the real struggles come after… waiting for them to dry. I'm always fidgeting and I needed to find some things that would smudge proof my nails within minutes! Saying that, I believe I have found my power team of affordable products that do a speedy job with the whole mani banaza!
China Glaze Ridge Filler Base Coat
Even though this isn't a product that claims to dry fast, this baby does sure dry pretty quick {quicker than the Revlon one!}. I also love that it is a ridge filler base coat so it evens out your nails so the following polish looks pretty spiffy. I actually prefer this one over the Revlon one because it does dry faster and I have had it for a while and the formula hasn't protested about not being used.
Maybelline Express Remover
When it's time to repaint the nails, I reach straight for this nail polish remover! It does a pretty quick job at removing old polish on your finger in one simple step! You just swirl your finger in the sponge and PRESTO! MAGIC! Your nails are free from old polish and is ready for the next mani! I have used it so much that now the sponge is staining my fingers so I have to repurchase again but other than that, I prefer this over cotton wool.
Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat
I'm not really fussy when it comes to base coats because I change my nail polish so often. I use this one because it just dries quicker than others that I have tried! I'm like less than half way through the bottle and it's getting difficult to reach all the product with the brush so I might have to repurchase it too! AND revlon always has sales on at Chemist Warehouse and Priceline, so you can pick it up for a steal if you're keen!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat
After trying all the drugstore quick dry top coats, this one is the most impressive! Once you apply it, it evens out the shotty painting skills and provides such a glossy finish! Every time I use it, I always get asked where I get my nails done! The time it takes to dry is a little longer than expected {Can be smudged if not careful} but paired with the Essence Nail Art Express dry drops on top, it cuts that time in half and makes it smudge-proof! HOWEVER, imma be real. I am like halfway through the bottle and it's all thick and gross making it nearly impossible to get an even coat but it is so cheap {on sale} that I don't mind repurchasing.
These are my fave products for painting my nails in no time! Do you have a secret magical product that works to speed up the drying time? I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW!

Essense Nail Art Express Dry Drops
The main magic behind it all is the Essense Nail Art Express Dry Drops. Dang I cannot explain how great this product is! I bought it a while back and because I didn't know how to use it.. honestly, it was neglected. I recently decided to give it another go and I'm so glad I did because it rapidly increased the drying time between the last coloured coat and the final coat! AND it's so inexpensive too!

September Favourites 2014
OMGMGMG! I'm sorry for not blogging as usual for the past month or so, I've just been so busy with uni assignments and procrastination that the blog was unloved for a couple weeks. It has always been on my mind to get a new post up but it was all too much with uni so I unwillingly took a break.
BUT I'M BACK *CONFETTI AND PARTY POPPERS* and I'm ready to pump out some more posts because now I actually have time to get everything sorted! What better way to start than a good ol' monthly favourites post! To be honest, I didn't even have the $$$$ or the time to do some damage at the shops so I've retreated to the stash where all the gems really lie.
Maybelline Color Elixer in "Blush Essence"
It wasn't until the middle of the month when I decided to whip this baby out for a spin and let me tell you, I actually really like it. This shade in particular is kinda rosey and just goes with everything {eyez wize}. I have learned to love the formula {it was a process but we got there} and I really do enjoy them, so much that I bought a couple more in different shades! They aren't sticky like I thought they would be, the colour payoff is crazy good for a gloss hybrid thing that it claims to be and it's just so easy to apply!
Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner
I had this sitting in my draw and just decided to use it recently because I didn't want it to go to waste. It's a toner spray that you can use any time of the day but I tend to use it more at night, after I have a shower just before I put my moisturiser on. I have problems with redness caused by irritation and ever since I have started to use this spray, I have noticed my skin looks so much calmer in the morning which is a major plus for me when I go to put my makeup on and not have to use like 1 million concealers to get an even base {conceal, don't feel}. I haven't dabbled too much into the Sukin range, but I might look into their stuff if it's going to really help my skin.
The Balm Frat Boy Blush
Okay, so maybe I did do a little spending this month.. I picked up the Frat Boy Blush from TheBalm which is a peachy pink shade that just looks so good on. The first time I wore it paired with the NARS Matte Lip Crayon in "Red Square" which is a fiery red orange and it just complemented each other SO WELL!! {especially paired with a wing, ouuiiii}. The pigmentation of this blush is insane too so if you have this, use a light hand! AND THE PACKAGING IS JUST SO DARN CUTE! What's really not to love?! Going into spring, I definitely think this blush will be a solid staple in the everyday makeup routine!
Sigma E25 Blending Brush
ohmy, this eyeshadow brush has been a staple in my collection since I bought it at the beginning of the year! The shape of it makes it so easy to apply and blend shadows on the outer corner and the crease without looking so out of place. I believe this brush is a dupe for the MAC 217 brush which is like 10x more expensive than the sigma one which does exactly the same thing. If there is one thing you want in your makeup life, it's to always have blended shadows.
Butter London "Come to Bed Red"
September was a serious red-nail-polish-month for me! I actually think I had red nails ALLLL month which is so unusual because I have such nail polish commitment issues and I swap the shades like every two days. I think it's because I had no time to do anything but assignments so I touched my nails up with the shade from Butter London. I just LOVEEE the formula, it's so mess free and just applies so nicely! It's pretty opaque too but as I like to make my polishes last a little longer, I just applied more coats! The shade is just a beautiful true cherry red which just looks so lovely on.
A bit of a rambly favourites this month I guess, I JUST MISSED TALKING ABOUT MAKEUP AND STUFF!! I have been writing up some posts that are sitting in my drafts so hopefully you won't have to wait this long for another post again!

Sheer Madness!!
With dry lips always giving me constant grief, I have narrowed my lipsticks and lip balms down to the ones that will give my lips a little colour while also not drawing attention to cracks! {holla at the girls that deal with the struggles of dry lips, I feel yo pain}
Revlon Lip Butter in "Sweet Tart" & "Juicy Papaya"
There wouldn't be a reason as to why these are on the list! They have such great pigmentation for a tinted lip butter {better then the Korres ones, just not as moisturising}. There is such a huge range of colours out there to suit everyone but I tend to lean to towards the light oranges and cool-tone pinks for some weird reason and I alternate between these two shades when I feel like making my lips the statement of the makeup look{not to avoid people from looking at my bad brow day}.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in "Lovers Coral"
"Lovers Coral" is my all time favourite sheer lipstick which has a lustrous finish and works well with other lip balms! The colour is a sheer orange/peach which looks so natural on the lips and works soooo well paired with gold and brown eyeshadows {fave combo ever}. I always get compliments when I wear this lipstick so it's gotta be alright I guess!
Maybelline Color Whisper in "Lust for Blush"
One of my fave lip colours is "Lust for Blush". Hands down it is the most easiest lipstick to apply without a mirror and the colour is just really nice for a natural look. Sometimes simplicity is the best {in my opinion anyways} and when I go for minimal, I reach for this baby for a little somethin' somethin'. It's more on the light pink, nude-y sort of the lipstick spectrum so it is quite an unusual colour choice for me, BUT I LOVE IT!
Carmex Tinted Lip Balm in "Pink"
I honestly bring this lip balm everywhere with me because I'm not normally one for reapplying lipsticks {I forget bring the lipstick with me, EVERY GOSH DARN TIME! omg}. But I always have this tinted lip balm with me because it soothes my lips when they get irritated and start stinging ANNNDD they give bombing pay off!! I love this baby and I need to get my hands on the peachy one too!!
I do think that these are kind of spring appropriate too but SCREW THE LIPSTICK SYSTEM, Imma wear what lipstick I want, when I want. HA! But these are the lip butters, balms and lipsticks that I wear when I want to avoid and prevent the dreaded dry lips during the day!
What's a favourite sheer lip product that you use?

August Favourites 2014
This year has flown by so quickly and now we are in September. Let's just think about that for a second while I snap out of this confused state. August was a month of uni work and that was about it. How exciting!? Other than that, I have been using my makeup stash so much because of uni so I was able to rediscover some beauty products that have made my heart sing this month.
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
I know I own tooooooo many eyeshadow palettes and although this palette isn't an essential for everyone, I really love it! At first I wasn't keen because of a previous experience of owning a Too Faced Palette {short story = not that great}. But I bought it anyway after the hype died down because the shades are actually so different to what I owned already. The quality is pretty good, PLUS I am LOVING the giant matte cream shadow which is amazing for under the brow. AND IT SMELLS LIKE CHOCOLATE.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Liner
I'm not normally one for pencil liners because I don't know how to use them properly without looking like a distressed panda. I had this eyeliner sitting in my draw waiting to be used so I have and been loving it! It's in "Taupe" which isn't too light like a nude or a white and isn't too dark like a brown or black. It subtly lightens up the eye when placed in the waterline and matches almost every shadow that I have. So far so good!
L'oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess Mascara
omg! omg. This mascara has easily become one of my all time fave mascaras! Big claim, but it's true! Within the first coat, this mascara gives my lashes instant volume at the roots of my lashes and separates them {with some work} making them look like little butterfly wings on my eyes!! I also use black eyeliner on the top waterline to give the effect of more lashes too and together they make my lashes look fab!! LOOOVE.
Essie "Play Date"
This shade is definitely the perfect purple! "Play Date" has been one of my favourite polishes ever since I bought it and I still love using it because it just applies so nicely and the formula is just so good!! I love wearing this colour with a gold glitter accent nail!
Revlon Lip Butter in "Sweet Tart"
I have been all about sheer lips for everyday at uni lately and "Sweet Tart" is one of my faves! It's a cool toned almost fuchsia shade which sheers out on the lips not making it look too powerful! Mixed with my fave lip balms and this bad boy is ready to rumble giving my lips a little extra moisture while looking fab-u-lous.
What were your August faves? Should I check anything new out for September?

Amazing Face
I will admit that I often follow trends when it comes to recommendations for books however I actually didn't hear anything about this book by Zoe Foster. The book is called "Amazing Face" and I honestly think it's a book that every beauty lover needs in their life. LIKE WHY ARN'T BLOGGERS TALKING ABOUT IT?!?!?! It definitely beats Lauren Conrad's Beauty book {Yeah, I went there *snaps in Z formation}.
This book is filled with everything from skincare for all ages right through to makeup and even haircare for all ages with helpful hints and tricks that I'm sure we haven't heard about in this blogging world. She also added in product recommendations to achieve particular things which is pretty handy if you don't want to spend ages scrolling through blogs!
I absolutely love the fact that Zoe made the book so fun to read with bright, colourful pages and picture tutorials on how to's {example: highlighting the inner corner of the eye ^shown above}. What I love about it the most is that there is actually personality in the book - it's pretty much like reading a blog that makes you chuckle at certain parts!! I mean come on, have a little read of the text in the picture above! {also, do you know how hard it is to hold a book open while trying to focus a big mamajama camera?! VERY omg apologies for the blurry blurry}.
I bought this book last year when I wanted to take makeup more seriously and I wish I had it sooner because I have learn't soooo much from it! I always go back and refer to the book when I get stuck with something makeup related and it really is AMAZING.
Definitely a must have for EVERYONE in my opinion, no matter your makeup experience!! Check it out next time you're at the bookstore, I'll promise you'll love it just as much as I do!
What's your fave beauty book?

Beauty Toolin'
We gotta give some credit to the little beauty tools that help up along our makeup journey. I probably forgot some things along the way but these are the ones that I reach for so often, if not daily!
I use mascara wands to brush out my brows after I applied my foundation to make sure no foundation is to be seen in there! I then do my brows then apply brow gel and then go in with the mascara wand again to neaten it up! It's such a random beauty tool but it does the trick! On the odd occasion if my mascara looks a little clumpy on the end or the lashes are not pointing in the right direction, I go in with the mascara wand to fix that!
If you're like me and love a good cat flick and always manage to mess it up at one point, then I use a cotton bud dipped in Garnier Micellar Cleaning Water to fix it up! It definitely works a treat to get a clean line and it dries on the skin almost instantly so you can go back with your eyeliner. I also use the Micellar Water along with some cotton pads to remove my makeup before I cleanse. I really like the Garnier one because it doesn't irritate my skin and doesn't leave an oily residue after! Definitely give it a go!
Every day I use a makeup wipe when I am applying my makeup to get rid of all the stains on my hands from foundation, concealer and mascara {and the odd lipstick swatch}. I have always used the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes because they don't sting my face off when I am having a lazy make up removing day.
Makeup Brushes are easily one of the most helpful beauty tool that you could ever have!! They really make all the difference when it comes to a flawless base or blended shadows. I picked three brushes that I'm sure have cheaper alternatives, a foundation brush, a powder/blush brush and an eyeshadow brush. The best of all the brush worlds! If you're eyeshadows are blended properly, you're set for life! And then I also put the trusty Beauty Blender Sponge bc this baby is literally a gift from the beauty tool gods! I use the pointy end to apply concealer under my eyes and it just applies it so smoothly. {again, there are cheaper alternatives, I chose this one because it was the only clean sponge that I had, oops.}
I am so obsessed with the Japonesque Power Curl EyeLash Curler {I would recommend}. Before I upgraded to these ones, I use to use these random ones that I received in a magazine! These Japonesque ones really reach all the lashes and curls them to the point of no return! I find that my lashes hold the curl too which is real nice paired with a volumising mascara to make my lashes look fuller and my eyes more open and awake.
What are some of your holy grail beauty tools?

An Eyeshadow Palette That Willy Wonka Would Be Jealous Of
DA-DA-DAAAAAAA! That's right, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette!! The palette that smells like chocolatey goodness as soon as you open the chocolate moulded tin {oh lawdy heaven is a place on earth}. I absolutely hummed and hawed over this palette like no tomorrow, I was only turned off about the fact that I had previously owned the Natural Eyes Eyeshadow Palette by Too Faced and it was just not my cup of tea with matte eyeshadows being so chalky and glitter shadows having sooooo much fallout {dicso cheeks} and the whole palette not being pigmented at all.
I walked into Kit Cosmetics and saw the tester and the first thing I did was sniff the palette and BOY if that won't win you over, I srsly don't know what will! I swatched away to discover that this palette actually has some decent pigmentation {OH PRAISE THE EYESHADOW GODS}. So without wasting time, I bought the palette and lemme tell you my thoughts!
We already know what I think about the smell {chocolate = fantastic}. The packaging is SOOOO CUTE, it's a chocolate bar shaped tin which I feel like I bought it from Willy Wonka's Factory! There are also really cute names that go along with the shadows but it's not directly printed onto the packaging, it's more on a plastic sheet.. awkward if you lose it amirite?! {probs not, moving along}.
The shadows themselves all have a really nice texture that isn't too creamy or chalky - the shadow doesn't get messy in the pan which is good! The colours complement each other so well except I really dislike that pink shade that looks so out of place. I also love how Too Faced gets how we use the light colours for highlighting the brow bone so they put not one BUT TWO highlighter shades in matte and shimmer that are bigger than the rest on of the shadows {4 for u Too Faced, you go Too Faced}. They all blend really nice together and the staying power is great with a primer underneath.
If you want to treat yourself to a palette that is
Totally random but what is your favourite chocolate bar? ;)

Winter Blushes That Will Warm Your Soul
Winter has been the month of blush experimentation. Normally I just stick with the same ol' blushes all year round but with the addition of some newbies in my collection, how could I not try them out! I don't know what it is but there is something about winter and dark toned blushes that just work like strawberries dipped in chocolate.
I wanted to share the three blushes that have been on my cheeks this winter on rotation. All of them are quite different in undertone and in finish which is pretty snazzy considering they all look so similar in the pan.
You guys know that lately I have been LOVING the Clinique Cheek Pop in "Ginger Pop". I won't ramble about the daisy embossed pattern {but srsly tho, how cute is it?!}, but the blush is a dark-nudish type of shade that applies so seamlessly and gives such a natural glow to the skin.
Another blush that you guys know my ramblings about is the MAC Extra Dimension Blush in "Sea Me, Hear Me". I do find that my RT blush brush isn't picking the product up properly, so you definitely have to use a denser brush but anything works. The pigmentation is so there and it gives a pinky-mauve colour to warm up the face! + it has this really nice sheen to it that isn't disco city!
And the last blush I have been wearing is the NYX Powder Blush in "Dusty Rose" which has more of a reddy-pink tone to it. For a drugstore blush, this bad boy is incredibly pigmented and I have often accidentally put a little too much on as it is so pigmented but is does work a treat to give a warm glow during the winter + is incredibly flattering on my skin tone.
Blushes are not really my expertise in terms of finishes and all that jazz but I hope you got the jist of what I was saying! What is your fave blush for winter?

Uni Handbag Essestials
Ah, third week back at university and I can tell you that I did not miss the assignments being thrown at us. That being said, I bought a new bag and wanted to share all the random things that are in my bag aside from the obvious heavy text books and flimsy notebooks.
In my little black makeup bag {which is from colette}, I have a few products to help when winter strikes. I always carry a packet of tissues because I get the sniffles like nobody's business and some spare bobby pins and hair ties {bc you always lose them and they are never to be seen again}. I also carry around a bottle of anti-bacterial hand gel because YOU NEVER KNOW, NEVER!
As it is winter I tend to carry hand cream with me because I get dry hands and I recently purchased The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream and this stuff does not disappoint! It soaks into your hands really quick, isn't oily at all AND smells like roses!! And then as per usual, I carry like a couple of lip balms to keep them moisturised during the cold weather and one in particular that I like is the Chapstick Everyday Lip Care one because it's a squeeze tube making it so easy to apply out and about. And then as for lip products, I carry around a bunch of sheer lipsticks to give a bit of colour {more on this in the next post ;)}.
And now for the random whosits and whatsits that chill in my bag in winter! I always carry my Diary and pencil case for Uni which are from TYPO {gotta love that shop}. My orange wallet pouch is a recent purchase and I am lovingggg it! I think it's a good alternative for the Mimco pouch!! And then my phone and my glasses are always with me to make me look really studious when I'm scrolling through instagram. I also carry a sturdy umbrella because I have had plenty of experiences in the past where all my umbrellas flip inside out and then break! {It's like the umbrellas are protesting about being umbrellas!} HAHAah anyways I got this zesty yellow coloured scarf for my birthday which I haven't used yet BUT it has been sitting in my bag waiting to be worn {it just hasn't been cold enough}.
I can't believe that I actually fit all this stuff in my bag.. BUT IT DOES and I think these are some of the essential items that help me along my adventure at university. Thanks for listening to me ramble! What are some of your uni/school handbag essentials?

Everyday Lips
There are days where I can't be bothered going all out with a bright lipsticks and checking the mirror every two seconds to see if I have clown mouth. On these days, I turn to the 'my lips but better' shades in order to cheat perfect lips without putting too much effort!
I have gone through various 'my lips but better' stages with different hues and undertones but I have finally found the shade that works the best for me! When I first applied MAC's Sweetie, I found it so lustrous with a pretty weak lasting power and it dried my lips out a little. I went on a quest and tested different lip balms underneath this lipstick which gave off different finishes on the lips {mostly lustrous which is cool I guess but I wanted something that made the colour show a little more}.
ALAS, I picked up the highly raved about NUXE Reve de Miel which is actually 100% worth the hype by the way {I would recommend to people with really dry and cracked lips 160% <- pretty serious! More serious that 150%}. The lip balm isn't sticky and slippery/oily like most lip balms, but it's creamy/waxy {in a nice way + smells like a french dessert} and has sort of a matte/satin finish to it. So paired with MAC Sweetie, they are a match made in heaven keeping your lips moisturised while giving off a simple and polished pout!!
What is your favourite every day lip colour?

July Favourites 2014
Happy middle of the year!! July was a good month with being on holidays from uni and my birthday! It feels like when July hits, the winter weather actually starts acting like winter which is my fave season but I wish it would snow here so I could play in it! So as the winter chills are upon those, a dry face and lips have been grinding my gears so I have been trying new products that I am absolutely loving~
NUXE Reve de miel
First thing: WORTH THE HYPE! I'm really picky when it comes to lip balms because some of them just dry your lips out even more so you apply more but this one.. It smells like a lemon dessert {yummo, if that wont win you over, I don't know what will!} and is has a creamy but waxy feel that really repairs dry and cracked lips! It moistures your lips for ages and it works just as great under lipsticks because of the "satten" finish {basically if a matte and satin had a baby- TAADAAHHH}
QV Face Night Nurturing Cream
I'm not one for fancy skincare at the moment, I know it's something to invest in because it's worth it but sometimes drugstore overnight creams work just as great! I have really dry skin and I have been using this cream for 6 months now. The reason it's being mentioned now is that I find that it soaks in quicker in the winter time and just because I genuinely really love it. In the morning it makes my skin feel smooth, hydrated and plump! What more could you want?!
Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub
My favourite body scrub of all time is almost down to the last grain! It smells like maple syrup which makes me always feel like eating pancakes after I have a shower!! The grittiness is just right and it makes my skin feel fresh and smooth! Definetly try this baby out!
Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in "Blue Slate"
I've been obsessed with blue polishes this month and my all time favourite blue nail polish is one by Revlon called "Blue Slate". I think it's the most subtle shade of dark blue that is so winter appropriate! I just really love this colour!! It applies beautifully and it lasts a long time too!
Clinique "Ginger Pop" Blush
Makeup in July has sort of been little to none but when I have put my face on, almost every time I have used the Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in "Ginger Pop"! Even though it pains me to scrub past the pattern, the colour is such a gorgeous dark peach shade that gives a little warmth to the face during the paler winter months!
What have you been loving this July?
