Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms

I already have told the story of how badly I wanted the Revlon Colorburst Matte and Lacquer balms in my life. I have done a full review of the Lacquer balms if you're interested in those ones but this post is going to be my thoughts on the Matte Balms.

 From left to right:
Elusive - Soft pink
Unapologetic - Watermelon pink
Striking - Cherry red

The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms are surprisingly creamy and easy to apply. They glide on lightly so you can build the colour up but don't feel heavy or uncomfortable to wear. I literally can't get over how creamy they are for a Matte lip product as they feel like velvet almost giving off a satin finish. The colour payoff is pretty strong with one swipe being crazy pigmented.

They contain the same moisture complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut which doesn't make your lips feel tight after an hour. If you're like me and have dry lips 99% of the time, I would suggest lip balm either before or after applying the Matte Balm as it provides that little extra moisture. I must mention that sometimes they cling to dry bits when they wear off, however if you can maintain and reapply it before it wears off, you're A-OK. They also fade evenly, thank sweet potato pie!

I love all the colours I bought because I think bright lipsticks suit me better than most neutral/nudes. My favourite is "Elusive" as it's a simple neutral pink shade that is so easy to wear during the day. If my lips are feeling a bit tight, I also add "Sweetie" by MAC on top {of Elusive} to give a bit of extra moisture and sheen.

What is your favourite Revlon Matte Balm shade?

O.P.I When Froggy Met Piggy

I can't even begin to explain how much I love The Muppets!! Growing up and watching the muppets movies and their appearances on different shows used to be one of my favourite things to do as a child {coolest kid out. pls, I know}. I kid you not, when the local dvd shop were selling their all their video games back in 2001, I begged my mama to buy me this Muppets racing game and I used to play it constantly all the time because it didn't have a save feature! {wow this is sounding like a nerd files post}. The music, the costumes and the puppets are still magical in my eyes so when I found out that O.P.I had bought out ANOTHER Muppets collection, I knew I needed them in my life.

The Muppets Most Wanted Collection is based on the newest Muppets movie and contains 8 gorgeous limited edition shades. The shades are quite neutral which wasn't I was expecting from this collection as The Muppets often reminds me of bright colours. Either way, the shades are pretty gorgeous in this collection and you might want to check them out if neutral with PAZAZZ is your thing.

I bought the When Froggy Met Piggy set from Myers for $24.95 which includes two full size O.P.I. nail polishes which I thought was a pretty good deal as one bottle is normally $19.95!! So the set contains the two shades "Kermit Speak to Me" and "Gaining Mole-Mentum". They are both lovely
shades, and I don't own anything like them in my growing nail polish collection.

"Kermit Speak to Me" is a mauve/green duochrome certain angles and light, appears mauve with hints of brown and gold. It applies a little on the sheer side and is opaque in 2-3 coats. I LOVE THIS SHADE!

The other nail polish is "Gaining Mole-Momentum" which has gold and rose gold shredded glitter. It looks like little pieces of foil and apply quite generously on the nail. I must admit it is a little difficult to
get off but hey, that's glitter nail polish for ya.

Overall, I'm in love with these shades and I can tell that I will be wearing them on my nails for a while. I really want to get my hands on the other shades in The Muppets Most Wanted Collection!

Have you watched The Muppets before? Who is your favourite Muppet?
Mine's Fozzie Bear! WAKA! WAKA! ;D

Lush Fizzbanger Bath Ballistic

After my last Lush experience, I was sure that I wouldn't purchase anything anymore because the store gave me such a headache so I decided to place a sneaky order online to escape the concoctions being created. I ordered quite a few things but sadly most of the things need returning {a long story for another time ;D} BUT I saved this bath ballistic so I could enjoy at least some of my order.

Lush describes the Fizzbanger Bath Ballistic as a "Toffee-apple for your bath; perfect for the young and young at heart". This bath ballistic smells absolutely amazing making me feel warm and fuzzy, this definitely is a scent for fall. The Fizzbanger looks so plain from the outside but the magic is on the inside!! I put it in the tub, it fizzed up and started turning yellow, then blue and then making the whole tub of water green! I was in awe as I have never tried the bath ballistics from Lush before and I didn't realise how lovely it looks. The water was green! THE WATER WAS GREEN! My skin felt so velvety and smooth and the smell lingered both on my skin and in the room. And after when I was cleaning the bath up, I noticed a little surprise sitting on the drain which I thought was such a cute touch.

After this Lush bath, I think I'm more keen on the Bath Ballistics! Which one would you recommend?

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms

Tease: A burnt orange

Provocateur: A cherry red

Vivacious: A hot pink

Flirtatious: A berry red

Whimsical: A deep pinky purple

Describing colours is really not my forte but can you catch my drift?

Crazy for lip crayons?! I think so. I have been waiting to get my mitts on the Revlon Lacquer Balms ever since they got released and the beauty community went nuts. I finally saw them in store and I just went too crazy and bought the shades that caught my eye {aka half the collection}. And the packaging is so shiny that it sort of maybe reeled me in.

The Lacquer Balms contain Shea, Mango and Coconut butter for moisture making them super comfortable to wear. Although I usually apply some lip balm beforehand, these Lacquer Balms don't dry my lips out which is something I love in lip products. I'm going to be real, I wasn't a fan of the strong peppermint scent from the original Colorburst Balm Stains and I was so relieved that the Lacquer Balms scent isn't as strong.

I must admit when I was swatching the Lacquer Balms in store, I noticed that the amount of glitter varies in colour. Some have visible chunky glitters whilst others have glitters that are barely noticeable. I didn't know if the glitters and I were going to get along but somehow the glitters just don't show up on the lips, but just create a lustre finish. All the shades are well pigmented with one swipe and you can build the opacity up until your desired colour. In the swatches above, I have built up the colour to show you how rich you can make the colour. As it is a lustre finish, you have to re-apply every couple of hours which is to be expected from this type of lip product and they also fade evenly so there's no lip liner effect business going on.

I am so impressed with these Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms as the original Balm Stains were meh. I have also been playing around with the Matte Balms and a post will be up soon with swatches and everything!

What's your favourite shade from the collection?

Almay Oil-free Makeup Eraser Sticks

I will try anything to master the perfect winged eyeliner look {except sticky tape, like wat!? who even came up with that idea?}. Almay is such an unusual brand choice for me as I often see the display at Priceline but nothing ever catches my eye, except this little beauty. The Almay makeup eraser sticks are probably one of the most innovative and practical beauty tools that I have ever come across! There are 24 sticks in one pack which I think is pretty reasonable for $9.99.

The stick bit of the cotton swab is filled with oil-free eye makeup remover which allows you to re-apply your makeup straight away {CRAZY?!}. When I brought these home to have a play with, I literally was so confused on how to get the liquid to soak into the cotton. After 15 minutes of ultimate struggle, I figured out that you have to snap the cotton side with the purple line off which lets air enter the stick so the liquid can absorb into the cotton on the other side. Can you imagine the feels when figuring this out?!

These oil-free makeup eraser sticks are so handy to fix up dodgy eyeliner jobs or pick up stray eyeshadows. The sticks also are 100% fragrance free and they don't irritate my eyes at all which is one of the many reasons I love this product so much. With a light hand, you can actually get away with not smudging off your masterpiece. These oil-free makeup eraser sticks by Almay are a winner in my books! LOVE!

Have you tried any products from Almay before?

L'oreal Super Liner Blackbuster Eyeliner

As someone who always uses thin tip eyeliner makers/brushes/nibs, I decided to mix it up a bit and purchase an eyeliner that is the exact opposite. I picked up the L'oreal Super Blackbuster Liner as I was really keen on trying something new.

This eyeliner is a thick liquid marker which you think wouldn't be able to create anything close to a thin line. The first time I tried this eyeliner, I made a thinner line than I usually would have and I was like "WHAT IS THIS SORCERY??!!?". Second time round it didn't go down too well but ever since then, I have learn't how to control the marker by holding it at different angles to fill in the line.

The scent of the eyeliner smells like a sharpie permanent marker which puts me off every time I open the lid because it's so strong. So that's something that some people might not like about this eyeliner. I found that it wasn't very pigmented for an eyeliner that claims to be "Intense black". Although I definitely need to build up the line, I must say that I thought it was going to be pretty difficult to match the line with a thick marker but it somehow just works! Almost every time I have worn this eyeliner, I have not experienced smudging however one time I had watery eyes that might have resulted in a little smudging..

All in all, I like the L'oreal Super Liner Blackbuster as it makes doing your eyeliner just that little bit easier. I think it might be worth checking out if you're like me and struggle to get their eyeliner just right without colouring the whole eyelid in black marker ;D.

Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel: Marmalade

I picked up this Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel in "Marmalade" as apart of a collective haul and I really have been loving this nail colour. It's no secret that orange has been my go to colour in summer but let's be real, I have a thing for anything that's burn't orange - heck in 2012 my ball dress was this colour and ever since then my love for orange has stayed strong. Also the colour orange is such a good transitional colour between summer and autumn.

This is the first time I have used Revlon Colorstay Nail Polishes and here are my thoughts. The bottle is cute, it has a longer handle which is fantastic because there's no fiddly business going on. On first glance the brush looks similar to a normal brush but if you look close the brush is flat with a slight curve which makes applying the nail polish so much more easier.

The first coat is quite streaky and a second coat is still see through in my opinion so I use three coats along with a base and top coat. It does take a little longer to dry which is a bummer because I always end up smudging it all over the place within the first couple of minutes. The lasting power lasted about 3-4 days which is really good for me as I always end up chipping it the next day. So I really like this nail polish!

I would love to know your favourite nail polish colour for summer!

March Favourites 2014

For me, March has been an absolute roller coaster. I started Uni at the end of February and it has been ridiculously crazy understanding everything and taking it all in. I have been swamped with assignments for the last two weeks and it has really been stressing me out. I did mention somewhere on the blog that uni comes first but this is a cheeky post that I really wanted to get out to you guys. Nonetheless, here is the products I have been loving in March.

Covergirl Clump Crusher by Lashblast
I have literally been wearing this mascara every day for the month of March. I don't know what it is but it just makes my lashes look so natural while providing some length and some volume. I actually prefer this mascara to my others and I can tell that it's going to be a favourite for a while.

Nivea Lip Butter {Caramel Cream}
omg, I can't even describe how delicious this lip butter smells! Not only does it smell great, it makes my chapped lips feel so smooth! Ever since I have started using this lip butter, my lips haven't even split, NOT EVEN ONCE!! Crazy?! I know! I do love this lip product and I know I want to get my hands on the other ones.

Revlon Colorstay Stay Natural Makeup {04 Sand Beige}
I don't tend to swap out my foundations that often but as my skin has improved, I wanted to try something that would last most of the day and something that provided a more natural finish. I rediscovered this foundation in my draw at the beginning of March and it does exactly what I want it to do which has made it a favourite this month.

Maybelline Express Nail Polish Remover
I have painted my nails countless times this month and I have heavily relied on the Maybelline Express Nail Polish Remover. I have a review about why I like it so much but a quick rundown would be that it makes the tedious job of removing nail polish so effortless and requires no time at all.

Essie Nail Polish {Watermelon}
As summer was coming to a close, I have painted my nails a lot with Essie's "Watermelon" quite a bit this month. It is such a gorgeous shade that isn't too bright but not too toned down. It's just the perfect hot pink!

Revlon Lacquer Balm {130 Tease}
I just couldn't resist! I was waiting forever for the new revlon matte and lacquer balms to hit my local stores and as soon as I saw they were available, I had to pick some up. You know how I am a sucker for orange shades and out of all of them, my favourite has been "130 Tease". Full review is coming soon! ;D

MAC Eyeshadow {Sable}
"Sabel" by MAC has been an eyeshadow that I have been using almost every day this month either on it's own as a one wash type of thing or on the outer corner of the eye. This shade goes with all the shadows I own and I just really like it because it's so versatile.

What have you been loving in the month of March?
