Lately I have abandoned the big ol' bulky palettes and switched to using mono shadows for every day use. One in particular that I can't get enough of is from The Body Shop and it is one of their Color Crush Eyeshadows in "Caramel Flirt". When I swatched this shadow in store, it was pretty but I honestly didn't think much of it. That was until I took it home and tried it on for the first time and holy moly. It was love at first sight. Gettit, eye jokes. PAAAAh.
There are a whopping 16 mono shades available from The Body Shop and the packaging is super cute being clear so that you can easily spot the shade you want. Like I said before, I bought the shade "Caramel Flirt" which is what I would call a light bronzy brown shade. The eyeshadow is richly pigmented with first swipe, it also has a pearlised finish and looks incredibly natural on the lid. I use this shade alone {swatched above with a primer underneath} but sometimes I use a dark brown with grey undertones on the outer corner to add some extra dimension. Add some mascara and a red lip. Boom, done.
You can use the shadow wet or dry but I prefer to apply it dry but I'd assume that if you apply it wet, the colour would be more intense. What I was impressed with the most is that these eyeshadows are so silky and creamy when you use them, as a result, they are so easy to blend. I honestly can't fault anything with this shadow, I will be using and repurchasing this shade forever!
Have you tried any makeup from The Body Shop before?
I would love to know your thoughts!

A Fruity Christmas
I thought about starting this post with a good ol' christmas carol but I ain't got time to write that all out! HAHAH Christmas is creeping upon us again and to get into the spirit, I took a trip to The Body Shop because YES.
As soon as I heard about the release of the Glazed Apple Collection, I was excited! GREEN APPLES ARE MY FAVE FRUIT! So it's basically a match made in heaven. The smell of The Body Shop products aren't true green apples but it's so close you could eat it {BUT DON'T}.
I already own many of The Body Shop Body Butters so I knew this one was going to be a winner already. The Glazed Apple Body Butter comes in the standard tub the Body Butters come in with a lovely picture of a candied apple *drools*. The smell hits you as soon as you open the lid and the formula has a creamy, almost whipped buttery consistency. When you apply the Body Butter, it goes on as an even layer and absorbs into the skin in minutes. What I love about the Body Butters the most is that they provide 24 hour moisture which is great if you have almost scaly mermaid legs like me at the moment.
Another Glazed Apple product that I purchased was the Glazed Apple Hand Cream. I'm a big fan of The Body Shop Hand Creams in general and as the scent was apples, damage was done. The hand cream comes in a 30ml tube which is fantastic for travelling. As soon as you apply the cream, it absorbs pretty quickly leaving your hands smelling like ripe green apples! What I like about it the most is that it doesn't leave your hands feeling all oily and gross.
The other scent? FLAVOUR? WHo KNOws!? was the Frosted Cranberry collection. Holy moly, girl! Definitely give it a whirl next time you are at The Body Shop because you will NOT be disappointed. The smell reminds me so much of lollies, specifically the red kind of lollies for some weird reason. I picked up the Frosted Cranberry Lip Balm was an impulse buy. It's not the greatest lip balm in the world if you have hecka chapped lips, by the end of the day my lips felt a bit worse for wear. BUT it has a pink/red little tint to it. I personally would skip this as a stocking stuffer and invest in one of the larger products.
The last product that I bought was the Frosted Cranberry Body Polish. I have tried the scrubs from The Body Shop before but haven't tried the "body polishes". I honestly don't know what the difference is between them but the body polish has a gel almost jelly like consistency with larger and harsher granules. I love a good body scrub and when I smelt this one in store, I couldn't not pick it up. The smell is just on point christmas sweets! And it works a gosh darn treat to get rid of the previously mentioned scaly mermaid legs.
I'm pretty pleased with all these products that I bought. Looking back, I should have bought at least one thing from the other christmas collection {vanilla something?} but oh well. All these products are great stocking stuffers for your beauty loving friend! I would recommend checking out the christmas packs to get more bang for your buck! :D

The Body Shop Mango Body Butter
When I bought the two of the The Body Shops Born Lippy Lip pots, I also decided to pick up another body butter. I already owned a body butter in Vineyard Peach which smelled amazing and sadly it was limited edition {limited edition things get me every time!!}. I was in The Body Shop and it was a choice between the Mango and a limited edition one in Satsuma. The Satsuma body butter was a bit too strong for my liking so I ended up getting the Mango one.
The consistency is thick but I would say that they differ between body butters as the peach one that I own is more buttery than creamy like the Mango one. I found that either consistency needs to be worked into the skin and that it absorbed in a couple of minutes. The only issue I have is that it makes my hands feel really slippery and I have to wash my hands shortly after applying the body butter.
The Body Shop body butters claim to provide 24 hours hydration for dry skin which is one of the reasons that I bought another one. I use this when my legs and arms and feeling super dry and it does a great job at making them feel moisturised and hydrated for a long time. Another thing I love about the Body Shop body butters is that the scents are amazing! They linger but aren't overpowering and I think the Mango body butter is such a good scent for summer because it's fruity.
What is your favourite body butter from The Body Shop?

The Body Shop Born Lippy
THEN I took a trip to The Body Shop in Melbourne and picked up some more. I bought the flavours in Raspberry {Obvs} and Passionberry. I pretty much use these at home all the time because I can easily clean my hands and apply it on my lips. I normally don't like lip products in little pots because they are so impractical for during the day and it just gets nasty bleh. I use it before I do my make up to moisturise my lips so they are ready for lipstick by the time I finish my face. I also use a little bit before I go to sleep to hydrate them.
The smell amazing, they smell really sweet and similar to their names. Passionberry smells like grape and the Raspberry just smells delightful. They taste good too, I know you're not supposed to eat them but sometimes you can't help but lick your lips. They go on really smooth and leave a glossy finish and I'd say that they last a good while which is something that I like with a lip balm. They definitely make my lips feel less chapped which is SO good - 10 points to The Body Shop.
I can't even explain how obsessed I am with the Raspberry lip pot. This will be a product that I will repurchase time and time again because I love it so much. If they were to bring this product out in stick form I would be extremely over the moon. The Born Lippy Lip Pots are $7.95 at The Body Shop.
Have you tried the Born Lippy Lip Pots?
What are your thoughts on them?

October Favourites 2013
Hi everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful October and enjoyed getting into the halloween spirit. I can't even believe that it's November already like where did the time fly?! Nothing extra interesting happened in the month of October for me which is kind of sad {I was probably recovering after the one direction concert I went to in September}. And I was super bummed out that I didn't get the chance to try out any "new" beauty products because I was trying to save my money, nonetheless I recovered some oldies and discovered a couple of newbies that I have been using and loving in the month of October.
Vineyard Peach Body Butter
I nearly forgot that I had this body butter in my collection but it has always been my favourite. It smells like fresh peaches and boy does it make me hungry because it smells SO good! I usually use it on my arms and legs and it sinks in so quickly, hydrates them and leaves them so smooth. I was so devo when I found out that it was a limited edition body butter and is not sold anymore! :'(
Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
I have been using this mascara everyday this month because it gives my short, stubby lashes a nice lift {with the help of Mr eyelash curler}. It's also waterproof which is fantastic because I don't get home after work looking like a racoon.
Australis Eyeshadow Primer
I have been using this eyeshadow primer ever since I got it {First haul here} and have been loving it. It makes my eyeshadows stay in place all night which is it's main purpose. Definitely loving this one.
Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm {Pink Blossom}
I have always loved Burt's Bees lip balms and I decided to try the tinted lip balm. They give a nice pigmented colour which is build-able which is perfect for adding a little colour to the face without going overboard in heavy lipsticks. Love it!
Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes
These towelettes remove dirt, sweat and make up AND they smell like cucumbers! They are also Oil-free, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic which is wonderful for my acne prone skin. What I like about these face wipes are that they actually get all my makeup off so easily leaving it feel fresh.
And these are my favourite beauty products for the month of October. What were your beauty favourites?
