I really hope you read the title is Lumpy Space Princess' voice because as soon as Maybelline released their Color Drama Velvet Lip Pencils, that was my first initial reaction. I went out and bought 3 of the possible 10 shades available in Australian Pharmacies and I've gotta say that their is some choice but I wish there were a few more variations of pinks like a nice mauve pink would be spot on.

First of all the packaging is quite NARS-esque being a lip pencil that's slim-ish and displays the shade on the base of the pencil for easy access to the shade you want. The color drama lip pencils do require to be sharpened which may be an issue for some due to loss of product but I personally don't find it annoying because how often do you ever get through a whole lip pencil so quickly?

I personally love slim line lip products as it makes application more easier for people who have small lips or have defined lips {le me, I have points on my upper lips which makes lipstick a task and a half}. But I found it a breeze to apply all shades, even the darkest one to my lips with little to no mess.

All the shades are insanely pigmented, creamy and feel so comfortable on the lips. The longevity differs from shade with the darker shades obviously lasting longer and the sheerest one fading quicker on the lips. I just can't get over the fact that they go on so easily {probs due to the pencil form eh?} and smoothly with a punch of colour. With the shades I had chosen, none of them fell into the cracks of my lips or accentuated any dry patches.

110 PINK SO CHIC
The name is totally misleading as its a deep boysenberry, a mixture of a plum and purple. I would definitely have to say that it is so similar to MAC's Rebel but more red tones. This is my favourite shade out of the ones that I bought. It suits my dark features and lasts a decent amount of time without eating. With eating is another story, it will fade in the centre of the lips and my chin copped most of what was on my bottom lip when I took a bite. That's the only gripe I have with this shade, but other than that, I LOVE!

130 LOVE MY PINK
This shade is a cool mid toned pink which I'm still trying to get used to. Personally, this shade is my least favourite out of the ones that I have bought. I'm not a fan of the colour on my skin tone, it looks really barbie pink on my lips and that's something that I typically don't go for. From swatches I had seen online and in store, this shade looked completely different on my lips. This shade is something that my mum would wear, so it has a new home now.

140 MINIMALIST
A light pink that has golden glitters running through it making it very different to all the other shades available.  It looks healthy on the lips due to the intense sheen, I know that's an odd way to describe it but it's true. It's not a nude but rather a neutral that goes with any skin tone or eye look. For me it's almost like a my lips but newer and shinier. Obviously due to to this shade being so light, it isn't long lasting but it's light enough to apply without a mirror.

Overall, I really enjoy this collection that Maybelline brought out! I would have loved more pink shades, however there really is a nice selection to choose from anyways.

Berry Obsessed

Since the semester has finished and I find myself lost without the constant tick on my mind to either study or finish a last minute assignment. I have been going out, for dinners and nights out with my friends which is a nice change to the usual weekends snuggling up into my toy story jim jams and binge watching tv shows and disney movies.

But I noticed that I have reached out to the same lipstick over and over again. Something that's new to me anyways and just the perfect amount of vampiness a gal like me can handle. I'm talking about the highly coveted {did I use that word right?! PAH-english tho}, MAC Rebel.

MAC Rebel looks beautiful in the tube like a boysenberry shade but when actually on the lips, it translates to an even prettier deep purple wine with slight fuchsia tones. The formula is a satin finish which really lovely, it is creamy, sheeny and feels smooth on the lips while being decently opaque. This lipsticks staining power is unreal. I wore it to dinner and the only thing that happened was that it faded into a stain which praise the lord for no outer rim business going on! And I literally couldn't get the stain off when I went to remove it. I just gave up and woke up with berry lips.

I do love the versatility of this lipstick. I can easily get away with it slightly pressed into the lip to look like it's worn in. Or go full on with two lipstick layers to make it a deep purple wine. Either way, the shade goes really nicely with dark features {thank sweet lemondrops, I didn't want to regret this purchase} but I think it would look nice on anyone, it's just one of those shades. It does feather due to the formula as it's not matte but I don't mind - it just means swooping in with a lip liner beforehand.

Also can I say this lipstick paired with cool toned shadows, a flick of liner and big lashes is just ٩(♡ε♡ )۶.  yas.

Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine

ah, I've heard many, many stories about how this is one of the best tinted lip butters that I'll ever come across. So I took the plunge and bought one online! There are currently 6 different shades in the Korres Lip Butter collection but to play it safe, I bought the second lightest shade in "Jasmine" which is a sheer pink that has a subtle sweet smell which I love. Sometimes I think this shade washes me out a little but I mostly use it for around the house so it doesn't matter to me too much. It comes in a pot which will be an issue for people but I'm okay with it, as I only use pot-formed lip balms at home where I have access to clean my hands all the time.

The formula of the Lip Butters are amazing, when you dip your fingers in the pot, it instantly melts and becomes so buttery and applies smoothly on the lips. Once on the lips, it feels lightweight and comfortable and I don't know how to describe it but it like creates another layer on your lips and I don't feel all the cracks..? {Do you know what I mean?!}.

What I love about this product the most, is that it makes my lips feel amazing. As one who has been blessed with chapped lips 24/7, this Lip Butter doesn't dry my lips out at all. Rather, it hydrates them for a good amount of time, like maybe 2 hours which is pretty good as most lip butters/balms like disappear within 30 minutes to an hour {in my experience with lip butters anyways}. I also love how I can wear this Lip Butter under matte lipsticks because it's so sheer and hydrating.

I definitely think I will purchase another shade from the range! Let me know your thoughts on which other shades to look into!

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms

I already have told the story of how badly I wanted the Revlon Colorburst Matte and Lacquer balms in my life. I have done a full review of the Lacquer balms if you're interested in those ones but this post is going to be my thoughts on the Matte Balms.

The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms are surprisingly creamy and easy to apply. They glide on lightly so you can build the colour up but don't feel heavy or uncomfortable to wear. I literally can't get over how creamy they are for a Matte lip product as they feel like velvet almost giving off a satin finish. The colour payoff is pretty strong with one swipe being crazy pigmented.

They contain the same moisture complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut which doesn't make your lips feel tight after an hour. If you're like me and have dry lips 99% of the time, I would suggest lip balm either before or after applying the Matte Balm as it provides that little extra moisture. I must mention that sometimes they cling to dry bits when they wear off, however if you can maintain and reapply it before it wears off, you're A-OK. They also fade evenly, thank sweet potato pie!

I love all the colours I bought because I think bright lipsticks suit me better than most neutral/nudes. My favourite is "Elusive" as it's a simple neutral pink shade that is so easy to wear during the day. If my lips are feeling a bit tight, I also add "Sweetie" by MAC on top {of Elusive} to give a bit of extra moisture and sheen.

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms

Tease: A burnt orange

Provocateur: A cherry red

Vivacious: A hot pink

Flirtatious: A berry red

Whimsical: A deep pinky purple

Describing colours is really not my forte but can you catch my drift?

Crazy for lip crayons?! I think so. I have been waiting to get my mitts on the Revlon Lacquer Balms ever since they got released and the beauty community went nuts. I finally saw them in store and I just went too crazy and bought the shades that caught my eye {aka half the collection}. And the packaging is so shiny that it sort of maybe reeled me in.

The Lacquer Balms contain Shea, Mango and Coconut butter for moisture making them super comfortable to wear. Although I usually apply some lip balm beforehand, these Lacquer Balms don't dry my lips out which is something I love in lip products. I'm going to be real, I wasn't a fan of the strong peppermint scent from the original Colorburst Balm Stains and I was so relieved that the Lacquer Balms scent isn't as strong.

I must admit when I was swatching the Lacquer Balms in store, I noticed that the amount of glitter varies in colour. Some have visible chunky glitters whilst others have glitters that are barely noticeable. I didn't know if the glitters and I were going to get along but somehow the glitters just don't show up on the lips, but just create a lustre finish. All the shades are well pigmented with one swipe and you can build the opacity up until your desired colour. In the swatches above, I have built up the colour to show you how rich you can make the colour. As it is a lustre finish, you have to re-apply every couple of hours which is to be expected from this type of lip product and they also fade evenly so there's no lip liner effect business going on.

I am so impressed with these Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms as the original Balm Stains were meh. I have also been playing around with the Matte Balms and a post will be up soon with swatches and everything!

MAC Lustering

After loving my last trip to MAC, I became obsessed with their lipsticks. In Januarys Melbourne trip, the MAC store in the city was calling me to buy another lipstick on the last day I was there. I stood there for ages trying to pick something that was an every day pink lipstick and that's when I found "Lustering".

I was so excited when I swatched "Lustering" on my hand because it just was the perfect pink lipstick in my opinion. MAC describes it as an "outspoken pink" but I think it looks like a watermelon shade on the lips. I usually am scared with pink MAC lipsticks because they are usually too bright and bold or too bubblegum pink and then when I found this one I knew I had to have it. "Lustering" is a lustre which is my favourite finish from MAC because they are sheer but build-able making them so much more versatile. I didn't find one layer very pigmented so I just kept swiping until I got it to the colour that I wanted. As it is a lustre finish the lasting power isn't that great but that's what is to be expected with balmy type lipsticks.

I really love the colour of this lipstick. I like that it's really easy to apply and feels lightweight on my lips. I have been wearing this quite a bit lately because it is a very summery shade without being over the top.

Revlon Lip Butter Collection {Swatches}

I was organising my lipsticks and discovered that I had quite a few Revlon Lip Butters and thought why not share my collection with you. I own 7 lip butters from the range and I have been loving them at the moment. I have bought these at different times and took advantage of different sales from Priceline and Chemist Warehouse so I didn't spend all my pay in one go ;D.

All the Revlon lip butters come in a rectangle lipstick tube which has a quilted, check pattern running down two sides. I find this so unique and I think it jazzes up the packaging making me want to pick them out more from the crazy amount of lipsticks I own. What I really like about the Lip Butters is that they are slanted which gives really good precision when applying in one go. They twist up and down and I really like how once you are finished using the Lip Butter, you twist it all down and you hear a faint click so you know that it won't smudge all over the sides and lid. I just hate when I go the drugstore and all the lipsticks are squished all over the lid! {Just me?}

The formula itself is alright. It's a gel formula which provides hydration and allows the lip product to apply smooth. I'm a fan because they are a sheer lip butter and you can build up the pigmentation. They are supposed to be moisturising but I find them awfully thick and heavy on the lips and it wears off quite easily. They feel nice after you apply them and they keep your lips moisturised for a good amount of time. The only issue I have is that before it start to fade it made my lips feel a bit tight so I would recommend reapplying regularly to keep your lips hydrated. I find that they do catch onto dry lips so make sure to exfoliate and apply a light layer of lip balm on your lips beforehand.

Even though there are some things that can be improved with the Lip Butters, I will continue to use them up because they do a good job at providing a sheer colour to my lips when I can't wear my matte lipsticks due to stanky hot weather and chappy lips.

Pink Lemonade:
I'm never one for really light pinks but I saw this ballerina pink shade and I had to get it.

Juicy Payaya:

I am IN LOVE with this pink coral shade. It's so subtle and natural and I'm actually obsessed with it.

Tutti Fruitti:

I mentioned this orange shade in my January Favourites and I have been wearing this a lot lately.

Sorbet:

This hot pink shade looks really scary in the tube but looks really nice on the lips.

Wild Watermelon: 

I love this red shade lip butter because it's not an overly scary red and can be worn everyday.

Invite Only:

 This shade is blue with silver and blue tiny sparkles in it and goes on the lips clear with a bit of glitter. 

Provocative:

This is purple in the tube and has tiny purple, blue and silver glitters in it and goes on clear with some sparkle.

To be honest, I don't even know why I bought the last two shades. Maybe because they are limited edition and the colours on the packaging reeled me in. I don't really have a use for "Invite Only" and "Provocative" as they feel more heavier than the other lip butters and they look like the same colour on the lips. Nonetheless, I still enjoy having them in my collection and I'm sure I will find a use for them.

The Revlon Lip Butters come in 20 different shades so there is something to suit everyone. The price is a bit steep at $21.95 at Priceline which I think is crazy ridiculous. Luckily, I have never paid full price for these Lip Butters because places like Chemist Warehouse have sales on drugstore products all the time so make sure to do your research to see where you can get the best deal. 

I don't think I am going to purchase any more of the Revlon Lip Butters as I think I have enough at the moment. I do prefer my Maybelline Color Whispers to these Lip Butters because they apply so smooth and feel so light on my lips however that doesn't stop me from using the Lip Butters.
